The2013 KTM 1190 Adventure R is equipped with larger wheels than the base model, likely a 21-inch wheel up front and an 18-inch wheel at the rear (the non-R 1190 Adventure appears to sport a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel.) We are surprised the tires appear to be street tires and not knobby off-road rubbers.
The1190 Adventure used less fuel then my 1200 cam head GS on all legs. For those interested, here is the record of the KTM. I didn't record the GS fuel. I found three common problems with the 2013 model (airbox leak, weak battery, weak starter motor) that I thought had been fixed in the 2014 model. It appears that 2014 model TheStage 4 Intake kit from Rottweiler Performance is a kit of everything you need to completely replace the stock airbox and add two new fueling maps via the included Power C ommander V.
